I grew up on a farm in Kent, spending time in the landscape riding and walking. After 15 years designing buildings in London and Asia, I moved to the New Forest, drawn back to the landscape. I began my journey back into painting in 2019. For the last 5 years under the tutelage of Eugenia Vronskaya at Heatherleys School of Art in London. More recently I have engaged in a Drawing Intensive at The Royal Drawing School in London.

 

I enjoy life drawing and painting in oil and acrylic, using colour, texture and line. Most of my landscapes are painted en plein air, taking inspiration and joy from emersion in the environment. My abstract paintings are more playful and imagined, experimenting with layering, sanding and mark making. A recent series of paintings of cold sea swimmers combines the abstract nature of the sea with life drawing.

 

I have exhibited at the St Barbe’s Museum Open Exhibition and won the Coastal Gallery Award for best contemporary abstract work in 2023. I was shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2023. I have also had two exhibitions at Warborne Farm in Lymington.
